After almost three months in lockdown, I’ve had enough of the isolation and went to the Dubai Mall. I needed to go anyway as the clinic of my doctor is situated inside the mall and I needed to get my prescription refilled.

After the check-up and dinner, I decided to go to my top two favourite Japanese stores, Daiso and Muji to pick up some living essentials for my house and packing lists.
Maybe you don’t know this about me yet (trust me, you soon will), I love packing and making packing lists and I am obsessed with things you can buy to make travel packing easy. This is why i love, love love Muji.
Muji is a Japanese retail company that carries a wide variety of household and consumer goods. Muji’s whole aesthetic is all about minimalism and reduction of waste. Their product do not have the Muji brand or logo in it which makes it really perfect for that minimalistic vibe. I love everything Muji carries and I am definitely a big fan of their travel and stationery lines.
I am not proud to admit that I have spent an obscene amount in Muji for seemingly useless things, but trust me, they are very useful and they make me happy.
Today, I picked up a lot of items from their travel line.

I picked up several items under their travel and stationery line, although the stationery line is not the point of this post right now, so no photo. 😀
As you can see, I picked up some cases for my glasses, travel brush and toothbrush sets, and different empty bottles tubes and canisters. Don’t you just adore the minimalistic style?!
These bottles, tubes and canisters are very useful especially when traveling as they are basically leak proof. I have been carrying my creams and liquids in them for about 10 years now, and I’ve never had any spillage incident, which is saying something because lord knows I’m pretty brutal when it comes to shoving and carrying my stuff when traveling. I’ve used similar containers from cheaper brands, however, they’re just not as sturdy or reliable as Muji.
Another thing that draws me in is that they carry the perfect size containers depending on your length of travel days, ensuring that you have enough products for the duration of your journey, but helps avoid overpacking. It also means I am able to maximize the precious luggage real estate and weight allowances.
To give you an idea, I’ve used some of the spray and pump bottles already:

I used the spray and pump bottles to store my hand sanitizer, lotion and cologne and marked them with the handy dandy washi tape and marker. This way, I know exactly what is in each bottle and I am able to switch it up depending on my needs.
The tubes and other things, I have not used yet, but I plan to do that in the morning. The tubes will hold my shampoo and body wash (i have several of these tubes already and the small ones are perfect for day trips to the beach or going to the pool or the gym!) and the twist containers will hold my face creams and liquid cosmetic.
Do you like Muji too, or are there other stores that carry similar items that you prefer? Let me know and let’s exchange notes! You’ll see me talking about these containers from Muji quite extensively through out my posts, especially posts about travel and packing, so watch out for that. Until then,
Stay Wild, Moon Child!
