To mark my five years in Dubai as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) I decided to gift myself with a designer bag. Even before going to the store, I knew I wanted to get the Speedy 35 in Monogram print, plus a matching wallet. I’ve always admired the classic style and simplicity of the over-all design of the speedy, and yet the use case can be almost utilitarian.

While watching YouTube review of the Louis Vuitton Speedy, I went down the whole rabbit hole of LV ‘what’s in my bag’ videos and almost all of them owned a Louis Vuitton Key Pouch, or Key Cles (I know, it sounds redundant, because ‘Cles’ is French for ‘Key’, but, I swear, that’s what they called it! Maybe a street name? Anyway, I like how it sounds so I’m going with Key Cles!).
The Key Cles is often called the gateway product for LV goods, as it is one of the cheapest items in the store, and because of this, it is always out of stock.
As described on the website, “The Key Pouch in iconic Monogram canvas is a playful yet practical accessory that can carry coins, cards, folded notes and other small items, in addition to keys. Secured with an LV-engraved zip, it can be hooked onto the D-ring inside most Louis Vuitton bags, or used as a bag or belt charm.”
The dimensions are:
- 12x7x1.5 cm
- L 13.5 x H 7 x W 1.5 cm/L 5.3 x H 2.7 x W 0.6 inches
- Monogram coated canvas
- Grained cowhide leather lining
- Gold-colour hardware
- Zip closure
- Key ring
- Chain with hool
I didn’t really plan on getting a key cles to begin with, I just wanted to see it in person. But boy, oh boy, when I saw it in person, it was love at first sight! I already knew it would be a useful and worth it purchase, but I really did not expect how much I would love this thing!

The Good:
It houses my house keys (with the Hogwarts key chain, Hogwarts Alumni represent!) and my key fob for my car, plus a hand sanitizer (with a unicorn charm because, why not!) inside, it can carry some cash and coins, but also, the essential cards (ATM card, credit card and Starbucks card yo!) and the requisite cards I have to carry by law (Emirates ID, Driver’s License, Health Insurance Card).

The Bad:
The only downside is because i use the pouch itself to hold my cards, i can’t tuck my keys inside, and when left jiggling around my purse, my keys can potentially scratch the contents of my bag (like my phone screens) or the interiors of my purse, if I was using any other bag other than my LV Speedy, as the LV Speedy is of canvas material, and the keys won’t really damage its interiors.

The Verdict:
I use the Key Cles as my everyday-carry and there are days when this is the only thing I grab. It carries everything I need especially when I’m just out to quickly run an errand.
I have to say that this thing has made running simple errands, or merely driving more pleasurable!
If you are looking into trying out a designer item, i would highly, highly recommend the Key Cles! Until then,
Stay Wild, Moon Child!
